by Eddie Stowe I have always been a Commander junky. I was first introduced to it by a friend a year or two ago. Ever since, I have been building funky and occassionaly effective decks. Along this path I have become quite the builder. Today I will talk about some of the basics to building and playing Commander.

Great article, Eddie! As a commander fanatic myself (Eddie being the one who got me hooked in the first place), I would like to add that a big part of commander is making sure that you don't end up relying on a specific few cards to win the day. I've made that mistake before; while commander games are long, no one wil get to their handful of favorites every game. You'll most likely get to only a fraction of your cards in a game, so make sure to test your deck extensively and fine-tune as needed to male sure almost any handful of cards in your deck can work to your victory!
